MMH Stroke Support Group Mission

• Lend support and offer encouragement to those who have experienced a stroke and feel separated from others

• Share experiences through a common understanding of stroke survivor's needs

• Renew hope and strengthen motivation for those adjusting to a new / modified mode of living

• Assist stroke survivors to re-integrate with family and friends

• Discuss techniques with professional staff to learn from and to minimize challenges from stroke difficulties

• Share current information about mechanical aids to assist stroke survivors

• Discover, along with spouses / caregivers, methods and devices for coping with strokes
