Building Momentum - Cancer Exercise Program
The main goal of Montrose Memorial Hospital's "Building Momentum" cancer exercise program is to improve patients quality of life by reducing their fatigue and boosting their immune system before, during and after cancer treatment. Treatments used to fight cancer such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy, not only destroy cancer cells, they also destroy many healthy cells. The result is a decrease in the way the body functions. Exercise has been shown to keep cells healthy by stimulating normal reproduction, metabolism and alleviating fatigue. The Building Momentum Cancer Exercise Program is taught by a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist.
