Visitation Philosophy The staff at Montrose Memorial Hospital asks that all visitors respect the needs and wishes of the patient they are visiting. Things to think about before you visit a patient in the hospital:
Visiting Hours Acute Rehab Unit - Family members and friends are welcome to visit. The ARU is an open unit and visitors are welcome anytime. Please Note: The majority of therapies are performed during the middle of the day. No visitors are allowed in the gym area, except for family training. Family Center - Flexible for laboring patients. Non-Labor patient until 8:00 p.m. Please Note: For infection control reasons, no children under 12 year of age are allowed, unless they are a brother or sister of the baby being born. Intensive Care Unit - Open visiting hours except between the hour of 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Telemetry Unit - Open visiting hours except between the hour of 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Medical - Surgical Unit : Flexible
Children’s Rights
Parents are allowed a complimentary food tray, when staying with their child. Parents will be furnished with a bed to stay the night with their child. On the Medical Surgical unit there is a Play Station available to help children pass time in the hospital.
The use of cell phones in the patient care areas is discouraged. Cell phones can be used and public telephones are available for use in the waiting and public areas. To use the public phone, you must press “9” for an outside line. Local calls are free. Long distance calls must be placed with a phone card or by calling collect. If you need outside directory assistance, please call the hospital operator by pressing “0”, who will connect you with the directory assistance operator.
If you have questions or concerns there are people at the hospital that can help you. Please ask your caregiver to speak with the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Case Management or the House Supervisor.
Ask you caregiver to speak with a Case Manager. They will be able to help you make lodging arrangements.
The Gold Leaf Gift Shop, open Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., is located on the first floor, near the Admission department. Cards, flowers, gifts, books, candy, arts / crafts and sundry items are available in the gift shop.
The Lobby Grille, located on the Lower level of the hospital near the hospital entrance, provides an excellent variety of food and beverages. Free coffee and tea are available 24/7. Lobby Grille Hours Breakfast is available from 7:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Lunch and Dinner are available from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Lobby Grille Barista is open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
we can speak with? At Montrose Memorial Hospital, we believe that your spiritual health is an important part of your healing process. We have Chaplains from several denominations available every day of the week who are pleased to spend time with you. If you would like to speak to someone regarding spiritual issues, ask your care provider, case manager or physician to contact a chaplain for you. The hospital Chapel is available for meditation, private prayer and clergy consultation. The Chapel is located on the First floor, just past the Mammography department. Montrose Memorial Hospital has a donor area where you can donate blood. At least 90% of the blood used for patients at Montrose Memorial Hospital and the San Juan Cancer Center is from donors who donate here at the hospital.
Anyone 18 years of age or older, who is in good health, weights over 118 pounds and has not had cancer is eligible to donate. There are some restrictions for people who have traveled to areas where malaria is present. Some medications can defer you, but most common medications such as those for high blood pressure, lipid control or thyroid, and many others, still allow you to donate blood.
Yes! Ask anyone who has received blood to recover from surgery or an illness. Every donation makes a difference to your family, friends and neighbors here in Montrose. Someone needs blood every day. You can help made a difference. |
