Changes and Exciting Things Happening!

As we officially kick off the summer, MMH is looking forward to some exciting changes and additions in the upcoming months. Starting today, James Kiser takes the helm as our new Chief Executive Officer. He and his wife Lorie are settling in and he will hit the ground running by meeting with staff and physicians to learn about the culture at MMH. They come to us from Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, Montana. “The people on the Western Slope of Colorado are genuine and real,” Kiser said. “The Board and Medical Staff are very progressive, and the staff are very proud and caring. I’m looking forward to jumping in and helping lead them into a bright future.”

We also thank our interim CEO, Cindy Bradley for her leadership, wisdom and attention to detail during the last seven months. Her hard work helped keep us going while we searched for permanent leadership. During her tenure at MMH, she and others worked hard to negotiate with several new physicians to join our medical staff. Dr. Steve Emmons is a medical oncologist who will compliment Dr. Kilbourn at the San Juan Cancer Center. Two new cardiologists will team up with Drs. Foreman and Lee in our Cardiology Services office and two pulmonologists will be joining Dr. Gilbert. In addition, Dr. Thomas Miller, who was born at MMH, will join the Pediatricians, Dr. Stewart is a new ophthalmologist and Dr. Meredith will practice family medicine and obstetrics. Keep watching for updates and announcements to learn more.

Lastly, in case you didn’t see it in our annual Report to the Community mailed out in May, we have made it much easier for you to pay your bill. It can be difficult for patients to understand medical terminology and clinical directions for healing, but it’s just as hard to understand the billing process and financial obligation. We have chosen to make this easier by placing our financial customer service representatives in a more convenient location. By moving to the first floor near admissions, these knowledgeable people can help you understand your bill, your insurance, payment plan and financial assistance opportunities. MMH also wants to help you understand what you might owe before a procedure is done. Our pricing is transparent and we have tools to estimate your portion of the bill. Make an appointment today by calling (970) 252-2687 or stop by our convenient location now adjacent to the main Admissions area.
