CARDIOVASCULAR AND PULMONARY REHABILITATION

 

The Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department uses an individualized multi disciplinary approach in caring for Cardiac (M.I./Heart Attack, Angina/Chest Pain, CABG/Coronary Artery Bypass Graft), Pulmonary (COPD/Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Pulmonary Fibrosis, Restrictive Lung Disease and Vascular (Leg Pain/Claudication) patients.

The staff includes Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists and Exercise Physiologists with specialized training by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehab and the American College of Sports Medicine.

  • The Phase I Inpatient Program includes education combined with progressive activity.

  • Phase II Outpatient Programs are available for Cardiac, and Pulmonary  patients three days per week.

  • Phase III is a maintenance exercise program available twice weekly for patients, spouses or persons desiring a supervised program. Physician approval is required for participation

Each Program Provides:

  • Education, treatment and prevention.

  • Aerobic and strengthening exercise.

  • Circuit training and weight training with continuous heart rhythm monitoring for phase II patients.

  • Vital Signs and Oxygen saturation monitored.

  • Emotional support – coping skills

  • Physician progress reports

Medicare reimburses Phase II Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab.  Phase III is a self-pay program.

Vascular Rehab requires a Cardiac/Pulmonary diagnosis for Medicare reimbursement.

Mountain View Therapy's Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is certified through The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
