Montrose Memorial Hospital

First in the state of Colorado

to acquire the da Vinci® Si®™ Surgical System

Montrose Memorial Hospital in Montrose, Colorado has become the first hospital in the state to acquire the da Vinci Si Surgical System, ®™ the latest generation of Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci product line.

The da Vinci Si System retains and builds upon the core technology at the heart of the existing da Vinci® and da Vinci® SSystems. This includes advanced 3D HD visualization with up to 10x magnification, offering surgeons an immersive view of the operative field, superior to that offered by conventional surgical approaches; EndoWrist® instrumentation, providing da Vinci surgeons with natural dexterity and range of motion far greater than even the human hand; and Intuitive® motion technology, which replicates the operative experience and control of open surgery by preserving natural eye-hand-instrument alignment and intuitive instrument control. Together, these technological advancements provide Montrose Memorial Hospital surgeons with unparalleled precision, dexterity and control that enable a minimally invasive approach for many complex surgical procedures.

The da Vinci Si is Montrose Memorial Hospital’s first da Vinci System and the first da Vinci Si in clinical service in the state of Colorado.

"The da Vinci Si Surgical System will give us the ability to see the anatomy better and treat  prostate cancer more effectively while offering the patient the most minimally invasive surgery possible," says Dr. Craig Peterson, Urologist at Montrose Memorial Hospital. "In our experience, this will mean a better operation for the patient with reduced complications, and shorter hospital stays and recovery time."

Dave Hample, CEO states; "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to be the first team in the state to operate with the da Vinci Si model. We've only started to explore all the capabilities of this system."
